Grassroots Workshops

The purpose of the Grassroots Workshops program is to have Saskatchewan Soccer staff meet with each Member Organization's (MO) staff, boards, and volunteer groups to learn about their landscape and provide support, where needed. Saskatchewan Soccer has ran the Grassroots Workshops program since 2015 and over the past four years, we've visited almost every MO right in their community.

The Grassroots Workshop is a meeting and open discussion between the Member Organization's staff and board or organizational group, and SSA staff. Previous Grassroots Workshop notes are reviewed to reflect on areas of growth and areas requiring attention. The Member Organization's strengths and successes are discussed, as well as the struggles and areas that requires support. We discuss how Saskatchewan Soccer can better assist the MO to achieve its goals and grow its programming. The meetings are 1.5 to 3 hours in length and are held during the day or in the evening, whichever works best for the MO's schedule.

Through the success of the Grassroots Workshops program, Saskatchewan Soccer has developed greater clarity into provincial trends, successes, and needs. As a result, Saskatchewan Soccer has become better equipped to meet the needs of Member Organizations, and their participants.
