Games are back (for outdoor)!
We are sure you are all aware of the exciting news we received this week when outdoor sport was added to Step One of the Government’s Reopening Roadmap.
The Return to Soccer Plan was recently updated as per our release on Wednesday to include information on outdoor games (pg. 15-16). Please ensure you review the new guidelines and let us know if you have any questions.
We have received many questions regarding in province travel and how far is acceptable. We ask your organization to use your discretion on how often and far you travel to play - there is a difference between travelling to a neighbouring town to have enough competition within a league than across the province to play exhibition games. We want to ensure we are keeping all participants and sport safe, and we also want to ensure that sport can progress to the next step of the Reopening Roadmap without delay. If you feel your organization is not ready and that an exhibition game is too far away - you are probably right. In a few more weeks we will see reduced restrictions and the time for travelling will come. Remember, no tournaments or inter-provincial travel are allowed.
Indoor Sport guidelines remain unchanged (contactless training in groups of 8) and are scheduled to be lifted in Step 2 of the Roadmap (current guidelines on pg. 14).
